(a) The following fees shall be charged for admission to the Japanese Tea Garden:
Youth (12—17 years)
Child (5—11 years)
Child (4 years and under)
The Department General Manager or the General Manager’s designee may approve temporary increases of up to $7 to the non-resident Adult fees upon not less than 30 days’ notice, and/or may approve decreases to any category of fees at any time, based on one or more of the following factors: fluctuations in customer demand at particular times or on particular days or dates, rates at comparable facilities, adverse weather conditions, facility conditions, operating costs, and for tickets covering multiple garden admissions.
(b) Audio Tours: Upon development, and approval by the Commission, of an audio tour for the facility, the entrance fee for the facility shall be increased by $1.00 to cover the cost of rental of the tour.
(c) Recreation and Park Commission is authorized to designate three free hours per week for entry to the Japanese Tea Garden.
(d) The Recreation and Park Commission is authorized to establish programs offering:
(1) Bulk purchase admission tickets for groups of over 20 people at a discount of no more than 50 cents from the standard individual admission fee;
(2) Special time-limited promotions to change admission fees (including, but not limited to, joint marketing promotions, coupons, free hours or days). Promotional discounts will be limited to the equivalent of 20,000 full price admissions annually.
(3) The Department will report within 90 days of the end of any promotion, or annually for ongoing promotions, to the Recreation and Park Commission of the efficacy of any promotion in increasing visitation and the impact on revenues to the Department.
(e) The following fees shall be charged for weddings in the Japanese Tea Garden:
Hourly rate, minimum 2 hours
Hourly rate for Veteransx
(f) In addition to the admission fees charged under subsection (a), the Department shall also impose a surcharge of $1 on each non-resident Adult visitor, for the purpose of funding the restoration of the Pagoda at the Japanese Tea Garden. This subdivision (f) shall expire by operation of law upon completion of the restoration. Upon completion, the General Manager shall inform the City Attorney, who shall then cause this subsection (f) to be removed from the Park Code.
