§ 2-174 CREATION OF AUTHORIZED POSITIONS.

   Within fifteen (15) days of the effective date of this article the Mayor may submit appropriate resolution(s) to the City Council identifying the title and description of the responsibilities of any position authorized to be created under this article, which position shall then have immediate effect. Thereafter, any position authorized under this article shall be created as prescribed in § 2-171.

ARTICLE XXII. OFFICE ON AGING AND HANDICAPPED

§ 2-175 DEPARTMENT CREATED.

   As authorized by Section 4-203 of the Flint City Charter, there is hereby created a department to be known as the Office on Aging and Handicapped.

§ 2-176 DIRECTOR — APPOINTMENT.

   The head of this Department shall be known as the Director of the Office on Aging and Handicapped and shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council. The Director shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor.

§ 2-177 SAME — DUTIES.

   The Director of the Office on Aging and Handicapped shall be responsible for the provision of specialized services, assistance and referrals to senior and/or handicapped citizens of the City of Flint. The Director shall have such other duties and responsibilities as prescribed by the Mayor.
