PUBLIC COIN-OPERATED LAUNDRY or DRY CLEANING OPERATION. A public establishment or place of business conducted for the purpose of washing, cleaning, drying and laundering clothes and other washable materials and dry cleaning clothing and other materials in a customer-operated laundry and cleaning equipment.

Any person, co-partnership, firm or corporation desiring to operate a public coin-operated facility as defined herein within the City of Flint, shall make application in writing for permission to do so, to the City Clerk of said City upon blanks to be provided by the City Clerk. The City Clerk shall require such applicant to state in writing upon such blanks:
(a) The applicant’s full name, residence, post office address, and whether such applicant is an individual, copartnership, firm or corporation and if such applicant shall be a copartnership, the names of the partners together with their addresses.
(b) The location or locations of applicant’s place or places of business and a statement as to the nature of the operation, i.e., whether it is coin-operated laundry machines or coin-operated dry cleaning machines, or both.
(c) An agreement that the applicant will permit the Director of Public Health, the Fire Department and the Building Inspector to inspect the establishment or establishments and everything in connection therewith at any time desired.

The license fee shall be as prescribed in Chapter 26 of this Code. All licenses issued by the City Clerk under this ordinance, unless sooner revoked, shall expire on April 30 of each year. No license shall be issued until the location of such business and the premises have been approved by the Director of Public Health, Fire Department and the Building Inspections Department. Each establishment shall be maintained in a clean and sanitary condition.

ARTICLE VI. CUTTING, REMOVING OR TRIMMING TREES
No person, firm or corporation shall engage in the business of cutting, removing or trimming trees on private property within the City of Flint without obtaining a license as herein provided. Any person, firm or corporation making application for the license shall furnish to the City Clerk, on a form to be prescribed by him, information concerning the name and organization of the applicant, a description of the equipment and procedures employed and the nature of operations conducted. Upon receipt of such information, and the certificates of insurance required in this article, the City Clerk shall issue a license to such applicant and such license shall be shown to any person who shall do business with the licensee and who shall request same. The issuance of a license hereunder shall not obviate the necessity of obtaining such other licenses and permits as shall be required by the ordinances of the City of Flint.

Upon receipt of the application, the City Clerk shall issue a license upon the payment of a fee prescribed in Chapter 26 of this Code. All such licenses shall be for a period of one year and shall expire on April 30 next following the date of issuance, and there shall be no rebate for any lesser time.

No license shall be issued unless and until the applicant shall furnish a certificate of insurance, cancelable only upon thirty (30) days written notice to the City Clerk of the City of Flint, in accordance with the following. Said policy of insurance shall indemnify the applicant in the sum of at least twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) for property damage, one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) for injury or death to one person and three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000.00) for injury or death to more than one person in any one accident. In the event the applicant is covered by the Workers’ Compensation Law of the State of Michigan, said applicant shall furnish evidence of insurance in accordance with statutory requirements. Such policy of insurance shall indemnify the applicant for any and all liability to persons with whom he is transacting business and their property, in the above amounts, in addition to the public liability above specified. The certificate of insurance shall be approved as to form and content by the Chief Legal Officer. Upon cancellation or expiration of the required insurance, the City Clerk shall notify the licensee in writing and said licensee shall forthwith cease and desist from engaging in the business aforedescribed business.
