Sec. 11-104. Duration of proclamation or orders.
Any proclamation or order issued in accordance with the provisions of this article shall terminate after forty-eight (48) hours from the issuance thereof, or upon the issuance of a proclamation determining an emergency no longer exists, whichever occurs first; however, the duration of any such proclamation or order may be extended for such additional periods of time as may be determined necessary by the mayor.

Sec. 11-105. Violations and penalties.
Any person violating the provisions of this article or executive order or proclamation issued pursuant hereto shall be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not exceeding three hundred dollars ($300.00) or by imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each day any such violation shall continue shall constitute a separate offense.

ARTICLE V.
INTERFERENCE WITH FIRE DEPARTMENT*

Sec. 11-110. Interference with fire department.
Any person who attempts to obstruct or obstructs the operations of the fire department in connection with a suspected or reported fire or other emergency, whether or not such fire or emergency is found to exist, or disobeys any lawful command of the chief or any officer of the fire department who is in charge of such operations, or any part thereof, or any police officer assisting the fire department, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.

Sec. 11-111. Police placement of ropes or guards; violation.
It shall be the duty of the chief of police of the city, at the time of any fire, to place ropes or guards across all streets, lanes or alleys on which shall be situated any building on fire, and at such other points as are deemed expedient and necessary. Any person entering within the line indicated by such ropes or guards and refusing to go outside such lines when directed to do so by any police officer or officer of the fire department shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor.

   Editors Note: Section 1 of Ord. No. 6030, enacted June 11, 1984, repealed former §§ 11-111, 11-112, relative to tampering with fire equipment generally and tampering with fire hydrant or fire appliance; the repealed sections had been derived from Ord. No. 5719, § 2, enacted Feb. 28, 1983. Section 2 of Ord. No. 6030 set out new §§ 11-111, 11-112, as herein codified.
Sec. 11-112. Vehicles obstructing progress of fire apparatus.
Any person operating any vehicle who shall willfully or carelessly permit the same to obstruct the progress of any apparatus of the fire department organization going to a suspected, reported or actual fire or other emergency, or who shall willfully damage any hose or apparatus belonging to the fire department shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
