§ 20-227 DIGGING FROM SIDES OF TRACKS.
   It shall be unlawful for any person to dig material from the sides of tracks either for filling purposes between the tracks or for surfacing up same, or to remove the material dumped along the tracks for sale to private parties or corporations.

§ 20-228 NEW GRANT OR CONCESSION.
   Each and every railroad company to which shall be granted by the city council any additional right-of-way, concession or other right to change or alter any of its tracks, shall file with the city secretary a written acceptance of the provisions of this article. No grant or concession shall take effect until such acceptance is filed.

§ 20-229 EXISTING RIGHTS NOT AFFECTED.
   The provisions of this article shall not be construed as affecting existing rights, grants or privileges, or so long as any condition upon which they were granted or contracted with remain intact, unless from their nature they must adapt themselves to such provisions.

§ 20-230 RESTORATION OF EXCAVATED STREETS.
   All excavations or displacements made while repairing or changing any roadbed or track in the city shall be restored or replaced as nearly as possible to its former condition immediately upon completion of such work.

§ 20-232 SWITCHMAN REQUIRED; DUTY.
   It shall be the duty of all persons operating switch trains or switch engines over, on or across public streets and highways within the city to keep a switchman stationed on the end of such switch train or switch engine nearest the crossing to be crossed in sight of the engineer or in sight of some member of the switching crew. From the time such train or engine is within 100 feet of such crossing it shall be the duty of the switchman to keep a lookout at the crossing until the train crosses such street or public highway, and warn any and all persons who may be on or approaching such crossing of the approach of such train or engine and give signals to the engineer or other members of the switching crew of any person who may be on or about to go upon such crossing in front of such train or engine.

§ 20-233 SWITCHMEN ON FIVE CARS OR MORE.
   It shall be the duty of all persons operating trains of five cars or more, over, on or across public streets and highways within the city where such cars are being shoved or pushed ahead of the engine, to place on such train not less than four competent switchmen. The other members of the crew operating such trains within the city shall be stationed so that signals given by switchmen stationed on the end nearest the crossing may be properly conveyed to the engineer operating the engine shoving or pushing such train.
