§ 16-32 DIRECTOR; QUALIFICATIONS; DUTIES GENERALLY.
   The director of public health or his or her designee shall enforce all relevant laws for this jurisdiction. The director or his or her designee shall also enforce for this jurisdiction codes and regulations promulgated by the Texas department of health. The director of public health or his or her designee shall coordinate activities with the Texas department of health and with other local public health units, departments and districts.

§ 16-33 SELECTION OF MEMBERS OF THE DEPARTMENT.
   The director of public health shall have the power to appoint, employ and remove such officers, assistants, employees and personnel according to budgeted authorized positions or authorized personnel overages for the efficient administration of the affairs of the department of public health and to prescribe and fix their duties, scope and authority and qualifications.

§ 16-34 POWERS AND DUTIES OF OFFICERS GENERALLY.
   The director and other members of the department of public health shall have the right to enter the premises of citizens for the purpose of inspecting the condition of the premises and for the purpose of enforcing the rules and regulations concerning the public health and the ordinances relating thereto now in force or that may be hereafter passed by the city council. In the exercise of this right the department and its employees shall act with good judgment and in a reasonable manner, so as not to unnecessarily invade the privacy of the homes and premises belonging to citizens.

§ 16-35 EXPENDITURE OF MONEY FOR PUBLIC HEALTH PROGRAMS THROUGH DONATIONS, GRANTS OR CONTRACTS.
   Subject to the approval of the city manager and the city council, this department will provide for the expenditure of money for public health programs through receipt of donations, grants or contracts.

   All fees collected by the department shall be paid over to the city treasurer and deposited in the general fund.
