(a) No person shall post, attach to or in any manner fasten upon any telephone pole, electric light pole or any other pole, or upon any post or tree, which now is or may hereafter be standing in any street, alley, part or public ground in the village, any notice, sign, advertisement, bill or other thing. However, nothing herein shall be construed to prohibit the placing or attaching to such poles, posts or trees anything necessary and proper for which the same were erected.
(b) The Street Commissioner shall remove from the poles, posts or trees everything unlawfully attached or fastened thereto and shall report all violations of this section to the Mayor.

(c) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor. A separate offense shall be deemed committed each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues. The penalty shall be as provided in § 698.02.
