(a) The position of Supervisor of Recreation, Parks and Community Activities is hereby established.
(b) The Supervisor shall be responsible for the supervision, administration, and financial management of the Village of Jefferson’s Recreation Department, the Jefferson Community Recreation Center, Parks and Community Activities. The Supervisor is also responsible for the supervision and management of all Village parks, including, but not limited to, the Village’s Greens, Gazebo, and dog park, and shall perform other duties as more specifically described in the job description for this position. The Supervisor shall plan recreational programs and activities with the goal of making the Recreation Department self-supporting.
(c) The Supervisor, or his or her designee, is authorized to make, establish, and post such rules and regulations, not otherwise provided for, as he or she may deem necessary to protect the public in the use of the parks and facilities located therein and/or to protect and preserve such parks and facilities. No person shall violate any such rule or regulation.
(d) Whosoever violates any provision of this chapter, or fails to comply with any rule established and posted pursuant to this section, shall be guilty of a minor misdemeanor. Any person found guilty of committing a subsequent offense under this section within a 12 month period shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.
(e) The Supervisor shall report to and operate under the direct supervision and control of the Village Administrator.
(f) The Supervisor’s compensation shall be determined from time to time by Council and established in the Village of Jefferson’s Wage Ordinance.
