The salary of the Mayor of the Village, commencing January 1, 2004, and thereafter, shall be $6,000 per year, payable monthly. Prior to January 1, 2020, in addition to paying the Mayor’s salary, the village shall pay an additional amount of six and one-half percent of the Mayor’s salary to the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, said amount to be paid as an employee contribution to that retirement system. Commencing January 1, 2020, in addition to paying the Mayor’s salary, the village shall pay an additional amount of 10% of the Mayor’s salary to the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, said amount to be paid as an employee contribution to that retirement system. The Mayor shall not have the option to take cash in lieu of the OPERS contribution.
