ANGLE PARKING
The Board of Public Works & Safety shall determine upon what streets angle/diagonal parking shall be permitted and shall mark or sign such streets, but such angle/diagonal parking shall not be indicated upon any state highway within this city unless the Indiana Department of Transportation (IDOT) has determined that angle/diagonal parking shall be permitted. Angle/diagonal parking shall be specified in Chapter 78. Schedule XI as from time to time amended by resolution of the Board of Public Works & Safety.

Any and all motor vehicles utilizing an angle/diagonal parking space shall utilize such space by "head-in" parking. For purposes of this section, the term "HEAD-IN" is defined to mean that the front of the motor vehicle shall be nearest the curb.

STOPPING, STANDING, OR PARKING PROHIBITED IN SPECIFIED PLACES
No person shall park any vehicle upon a street, other than an alley, in such a manner or under such conditions as to leave available less than 18 feet of the width of the roadway for free movement of vehicular traffic.

No person shall park a vehicle within an alley in such a manner or under such conditions as to leave available less than 12 feet of the width of the roadway for the free movement of vehicular traffic, and no person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle within an alley in such position as to block the driveway entrance to any abutting property.

No person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with law or the directions of a police officer or traffic-control device in any of the following places:
(A) On a sidewalk;
(B) In front of or between sidewalk and curb or immediately opposite a public or private driveway;
(C) Within an intersection;
(D) Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant;
(E) On a crosswalk;
(F) Within 20 feet of a crosswalk;
(G) Within 30 feet upon the approach to any flashing beacon, stop sign, or traffic-control signal located at the side of a roadway;
(H) Within 20 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station and, on the side of a street opposite the entrance to any fire station, within 75 feet of the entrance (when fire station is properly signed);
(I) On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge or curb of a street;
(J) Within 30 feet of any railway crossing; and
(K) At any place where official signs or markings so designate.
