(A) Parking spaces in the Downtown Square Parking as defined in Chapter 78, Schedule VII shall be free for motor vehicles for up to two consecutive hours each calendar day during the hours of 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and city holidays). The two consecutive hour period for each calendar day (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and city holidays) shall begin at 9:00 a.m. or immediately upon parking, whichever is later, and end two hours later until 5:00 p.m. Furthermore, the two consecutive hour period shall be limited where signage indicates that special parking duration limitations apply.
(B) When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall park a vehicle for longer than the time specified in Chapter 78, Schedule VII as from time to time amended by resolution duly adopted by the Board of Public Works & Safety and made a part of this traffic code.

Except for those prohibitions in § 72.12, no prohibition, regulation, or limitation relating to stopping, standing, or parking imposed under this or any other ordinance of this city shall be effective unless signs are erected and in place at the time of any alleged offense. It shall be the duty of the Board of Public Works & Safety to see that such signs are erected and maintained.

(A) No person shall move a vehicle from one parking place on a street listed in Chapter 78, Schedule VII directly to another parking place on a street listed in Chapter 78, Schedule VII, as from time to time amended by resolution of the Board of Public Works & Safety.
(B) Any person who violates the terms and conditions of this section shall be issued a citation and pay a fine, court costs, and/or penalty pursuant to the terms and procedures set out in § 70.99.

The storage of construction materials or equipment on or within a city right-of-way, easement, street, or temporary cul-de-sac shall be prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Board of Public Works & Safety or by an encroachment permit, improvement location permit, or building permit issued by the city directly and specifically related to the permitted construction activity. Temporary cul-de-sacs shall be for use by emergency vehicles and shall remain free from the storage of equipment and materials.

No person shall park a motor vehicle on a public street for more than 72 consecutive hours. No person shall stop, stand, or park an unattached trailer of any kind on any public street, alley, or roadway except for vehicles used in conjunction with public utility repairs or maintenance of their utilities. Exceptions may be granted on a temporary basis for street booths and concessions when in conjunction with an approved activity also exempted.
