1711.2.1 Overturning resistance.
Concrete and clay roof tiles shall be tested to determine their resistance to overturning due to wind in accordance with ICC SBCCI SSTD 11 and Chapter 15.
1711.2.2 Wind tunnel testing.
When roof tiles do not satisfy the limitations in Chapter 16 for rigid tile, a wind tunnel test shall be used to determine the wind characteristics of the concrete or clay tile roof covering in accordance with ICC SBCCI SSTD 11 and Chapter 15.
Chapter 18: Soils and Foundations
Section BC 1801: General
1801.1 Scope.
The provisions of this chapter shall apply to building and foundation systems in those areas not subject to scour or water pressure by wind and wave action. Buildings and foundations subject to such scour or water pressure loads shall be designed in accordance with Chapter 16 and Appendix G.
