8-1-1: DEPARTMENT ESTABLISHED:
A department of the government of the Village to be known as the Village Fire Department is hereby created. The primary purposes of the department are to provide the fire protection and rescue operations necessary to serve the best interests of safety and the preservation of life and personal and public properties. 8-1-2: GENERAL SUPERVISION AND CONTROL:
The department shall be under the control and supervision of an executive officer to be known as the Fire Chief. He shall be responsible to the President of the Village for the efficient operation of the Fire Department. (Ord. 534, eff. 1-1-1967)
8-1-3: ORGANIZATION:
The Village Fire Department shall consist of:
   (A)   The regular Fire Department consisting of full time regular employees, made up of the Fire Chief, Fire Lieutenant, Fire Engineer and such firemen as may from time to time be appointed. (Ord. 534, eff. 1-1-1967; amd. Ord. 635, 5-15-1975)
   (B)   (Rep. by Ord. 99-1030, 4-15-1999)
   (C)   Paid on call firemen consisting of personnel responding to fire calls on an alarm or special assignment basis. All paid on call firemen shall function strictly as firemen and shall be subject to the orders of the officer in command of the attending fires, rescue missions or training sessions.
