The engineer shall be held responsible for the inspection and maintenance of all firefighting equipment such as rubber gear, hoses, axes, lanterns, emergency gear, and the fire and emergency trucks. He shall see that all records of truck maintenance and other vehicles are kept up to date and all required maintenance performed is the best possible. A status report is to be issued once each month to the chief. He shall be responsible for operating and attending all pumping and operating equipment during the fighting of a fire.
