(A) Job Description: It shall be the function and duty of all firefighter II/EMT personnel of the fire department to extinguish all accidental or destructive fires and to prevent the occurrence or spread of such fire. All firefighter II/EMTs shall also provide treatment to the injured and assist paramedics at the scene of an incident when necessary or directed to do so.
(B) Qualifications: In order to be considered for employment under this section, an applicant must be a duly accredited firefighter II. In addition to being a firefighter II, applicants must be state certified in emergency technician training and whatever steps that are necessary to maintain said certification.
(C) Failure To Maintain Certification: If any individual, after becoming employed with the village, fails to maintain the above mentioned certification, disciplinary action can be imposed ranging from a reprimand to immediate termination. (Ord. 95-940, 8-3-1995)
