The lieutenant in the absence of the deputy fire chief shall be subject to all the rules and regulations governing the deputy fire chief insofar as they are applicable and he shall perform all the duties of the deputy fire chief insofar as the urgencies of the fire department shall require. He shall be directly responsible for the discipline, conduct and efficiency of the members under his supervision. He shall maintain a shift log.
When reporting on shift he shall generally inspect the conditions of the station and enter his comments in the shift log. Such log is to have his signature.
The lieutenant shall perform all duties assigned to him and his shift as outlined by his senior officers. (Ord. 534, eff. 1-1-1967)
