8-1-18: FIRE MARSHAL:
   (A)   Position: Subject to the terms and conditions of this code and policy manual, the position of village fire marshal is hereby created.
   (B)   Appointment And Salary: The village president, along with the advice and consent of the board of trustees, shall appoint the fire marshal on an annual basis. The starting salary shall be sixty nine thousand dollars ($69,000.00) per year. Annual wage increases, if any, will be dependent upon job performance and evaluations. Any such wage increase shall not exceed the increase given to all other noncontractual employees.
   (C)   Minimum Qualifications: The minimum qualifications for the position of fire marshal shall be as follows:
      1.   Fire officer I and II.
      2.   Fire prevention officer I and II.
      3.   Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate driver's license, CPR certificate and fire officer III certification.
Appointees shall have at least ten (10) years of fire service experience with a minimum of two (2) years' experience as a full time fire inspector.
   (D)   Duties: The fire marshal job duties shall include, but are not limited to, the following:
      1.   Manage the activities and operations of the fire prevention bureau.
      2.   Assist in the development, implementation and coordination of various programs within assigned area of responsibility.
      3.   Act as liaison to the office of the state fire marshal for matters concerning codes, code enforcement and fire/arson investigations.
      4.   Exercise direct supervision over subordinate fire inspectors.
      5.   Receive direction from the fire chief.
      6.   Assist in emergency management as part of the incident management system.
