The Board of Examiners and Appeals shall have the following powers and duties:
1. They shall decide appeals where it is alleged that there is an error in any order, requirement, decision, or determination made by any member of the staff of the City regarding the application or interpretation of any provisions of Chapters 105, 175, 176, 177, 178, 179, and 180 of this Code of Ordinances.
2. They shall prescribe rules and regulations for the conduct of examinations suitable to determine the qualifications of any applicant for licenses granted under said chapters.
3. They shall rule upon the qualifications of all applicants and certify qualified applicants, together with their respective examination ratings, to the appropriate City department within thirty days after the date upon which such examination is held, after which the appropriate City official shall cause such license to be issued.
4. They may suspend or revoke any of the licenses or certificates required by said chapters, for due cause, after notice and hearing as provided by law. Suspension shall be for any period up to six months, and during the period of such suspension, the license of the offender shall be void and the offender shall not perform any work for which a license is required. After the termination of such period of suspension, said license shall be renewed, provided that all renewal fees which may be due thereon have been paid.
