Section 108.4, Work commencing before permit issuance, of the ISPSC, is hereby established by adding the following sentence after said sections:
Sections 108.4 Work commencing before permit issuance Said fee shall be 100 percent of the usual permit fee in addition to the required permit fees.
Section 111, Means of Appeal, of the ISPSC, is hereby amended by deleting said section and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
Section 111 Board of Examiners and Appeals Pursuant to the Ankeny Municipal Code, there is hereby created the Ankeny Board of Examiners and Appeals. Appeals shall be in accordance thereof.
Section 113.4, Violation penalties, of the ISPSC, is hereby amended by deleting said section and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
Section 113.4 Violation penalties Any person who violates a provision of this code or fails to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who erects, installs, alters or repairs a pool or spa in violation of the approved construction documents or directive of the Code Official, or of a permit issued under the provisions of this code, shall be subject to penalties as prescribed by law.
Section 305.1, General of the ISPSC, is hereby amended by deleting said section and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
Section 305.1 General The provision of this section shall apply to the design of barriers for restricting entry into areas having pools and spas. Where spas or hot tubs are equipped with a lockable safety cover complying with ASTM F1346, the areas where those spas or hot tubs are located shall not be required to comply with Section 305.2 through 305.7.
Section 305.3, Doors and Gates, of the ISPSC, is hereby amended by adding the following exception.
Section 305.3 exception Pedestrian access doors and gates in barriers for residential pools and spas shall be allowed to swing inward towards the pool or spa.
Section 306.3, of the ISPSC, is here by amended by deleting the third sentence and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
Section 306.3 (third sentence) Step risers for decks of residential pools and spas shall be uniform and shall have a riser height not exceeding 7¾ inches (196mm).
