GENERAL PROVISIONS
The Clerk-Treasurer is directed to issue combined billings to users of the town's sewer and water systems.

(A) The Sheridan Water Works (“SWW”) is hereby directed to develop a written policy for the delivery and collection of invoices and payments for the services provided and contracted for by the town and billed by the SWW. The policy shall be delivered with each invoice sent to every recipient of services in the normal course of billing.
(B) This notice shall detail the policy that the SWW is authorized to terminate services should the entire invoice not be promptly paid within the time limits stated.
(C) This section is not intended to create a hardship or unnecessary burden and shall not be construed as to limit the ability of the Superintendent of the SWW to exercise discretion as needed in individual matters as they may arise or may become necessary.
(D) If a user disputes the appropriateness of a disconnect notice issued to the user, the user has the right to request a hearing before the Sheridan Board of Public Works during which the user may be represented in person and by counsel or by any other person of the user’s choosing. At this hearing, the user may present orally or in writing the user’s complaint and contentions. The hearing must be requested in writing within seven business days after the date of the disconnect notice by submission to: Town of Sheridan, Board of Public Works, 506 South Main Street, Sheridan, Indiana 46069.

RATES; CHARGES; FEES
The rates for water service, as set forth in this chapter are available to any water customer, provided, the applicant must be located on water utility distribution lines suitable for supplying the service requested in the town. Copies of the schedule of all rates and charges shall be maintained in the office of the Clerk-Treasurer for public inspection.

Each new user at the time he or she is connected with the water works system shall pay a charge to cover the costs of the connection, exclusive of the costs of the meter.
(A) (1) The charge for a 3/4-inch tap shall be $1,500.
(2) The charge for 1 inch water service shall be $1,750.
(3) The charge for 1 1/2-inch water service shall be $2,000.
(4) The charge for 2-inch water service shall be $2,500.
(5) The charge for 3-inch water service shall be $3,750.
(6) The charge for 4-inch water service shall be $5,000.
(7) The charge for 6-inch water service shall be $7,500.
(8) The charge for 8-inch water service shall be $10,000.
(B) The charge for a tap larger than the 3/4-inch tap, unless otherwise specified above, shall be the actual costs of labor, materials (exclusive of the meter), power machinery, transportation and overhead incurred for installing the tap but shall not be less than the charge for a 3/4-inch meter tap.

Each user shall pay a minimum monthly charge in accordance with the size of the meter installed for which the user will be entitled to the quantity of water set out in the schedule of rates set forth in § 51.13.
