§ 51.39 SERVICE AND METER PITS.
   (A)   Saddles shall be cast from 85-5-5 waterworks brass and shall be manufactured and tested in accordance with all applicable parts of ANSI/AWWA C 800. Saddles shall be manufactured by Mueller Company series 13000, or approved equal.
   (B)    Corporation stops shall be 85-5-5 waterworks brass and shall be manufactured and tested in accordance with all applicable parts of ANSI/AWWA C 800. Stops shall be manufactured by Mueller Company Model H 15000, or approved equal.
   (C)    Service lines installed under state highways shall be seamless annealed Type K copper tubing for direct burial. All other service lines shall be ¾ inches or one inch polyethylene (PE) tubing conforming to ASTM D 2737, rated to match the class of water main installed.
   (D)   Meter boxes shall be 18 inches in diameter, 30 inch depth Ribox Brand meter pit with a Mueller Company 18 inch meter box cover Model No. H10816, or approved equal. Pentagon bolts for meter cover shall be 1-1/32 inch.
   (E)   Iron meter yokes shall be as manufactured by Mueller Company, Catalog No. H 5010P with stabilizing prongs to support yoke on ¾ inch iron pipe stakes.
   (F)   Dual check valves shall be angle meter valves, bronze body, acetal plastic dual poppet assemblies with rubber gasket and stainless steel springs, as manufactured by Mueller Co., Model H 14245, or approved equal.
   (G)   Angle ball valves shall be bronze body with double O-ring seals as manufactured by Mueller Company, Model B 24264, or approved equal.
   (H)   It shall be illegal for any person to enter any meter pit for any reason, except town employees. Any person who enters a meter pit shall be fined not less than $500 nor more than $1,000.
