§ 51.44 SERVICE CONNECTIONS.
   (A)   After new mains have been tested, sampled and approved, contractor shall install new brass saddles and corporation stops on the new main at the locations of new service lines. Service lines to new meter settings shall be ¾ inch polyethylene resin plastic pipe (one inch for dual services) rated to meet or exceed the pressure rating of the water main. Service lines installed under state highways shall be Type K copper. A dual check valve shall be installed on all new services.
   (B)   Where new meters are installed on opposite sides of road from new mains, contractor shall push services under road to connect to meters. No open cutting of road surfaces will be allowed for service lines.
   (C)   Meter pits shall be installed at right-of-way property lines, or as directed by the Sheridan Water Works. Meter boxes shall be set plumb, and the meter box cover shall be flush with the finish grade (one inch).
