(A) The Sheridan Water Works (“SWW”) is hereby directed to develop a written policy for the delivery and collection of invoices and payments for the services provided and contracted for by the town and billed by the SWW. The policy shall be delivered with each invoice sent to every recipient of services in the normal course of billing.
(B) This notice shall detail the policy that the SWW is authorized to terminate services should the entire invoice not be promptly paid within the time limits stated.
(C) This section is not intended to create a hardship or unnecessary burden and shall not be construed as to limit the ability of the Superintendent of the SWW to exercise discretion as needed in individual matters as they may arise or may become necessary.
(D) If a user disputes the appropriateness of a disconnect notice issued to the user, the user has the right to request a hearing before the Sheridan Board of Public Works during which the user may be represented in person and by counsel or by any other person of the user’s choosing. At this hearing, the user may present orally or in writing the user’s complaint and contentions. The hearing must be requested in writing within seven business days after the date of the disconnect notice by submission to: Town of Sheridan, Board of Public Works, 506 South Main Street, Sheridan, Indiana 46069.
