§ 92.28 EXCEPTIONS.
   (A)   The prohibitions against burning set forth herein, and the requirement for obtaining a permit pursuant to § 92.21, shall not apply to the following:
      (1)   The burning of wood, charcoal or other approved fuel, in a conventional grill or camp stove for the preparation of food;
      (2)   The burning of wood, coal or gas in a fireplace, stove or furnace which is constructed and/or installed in a building or structure in compliance with all applicable manufacturer's instructions and all federal, state and local ordinances, laws and regulations;
      (3)   The burning of campfires, provided any such fire complies with the requirements in Note 2 of the table in § 92.20;
      (4)   The burning of household trash as specified in § 92.26; and/or
      (5)   Use of road flares or smudgepots and similar devices having open flames that are used for public safety or agriculture.
   (B)   Although a permit is not required, residents anticipating a campfire are encouraged to notify the NIESA Fire Department of the date and time of such burning.
