GENERAL PROVISIONS
§ 7-3-1 CONNECTION TO THE WATER SERVICE.
   All individual residences and all business premises, within the limits of the city, shall be required to hook up to the city water system and have metered water services. Meters shall be installed and placed in service by the city under the direction of the Public Works Department (hereafter referred to as “PWD”) that shall prescribe the size of the meter to be placed on each service pipe, according to a schedule adopted therefor. Only employees of the PWD shall open, shut off or repair any water meter in service.

§ 7-3-2 METERS PROPERTY OF MUNICIPALITY.
   Meters are owned by the city and are furnished to consumers. Meter cost shall be originally paid by the consumer and the repair or replacement shall be made at the expense of the city. Proper receptacles are to be provided for them and the service pipes are to be suitably arranged in accordance with applicable plumbing codes and the direction of the PWD. Meters damaged by negligence of the user shall be replaced by the user.
