1-8: GENERAL PENALTY; TRAFFIC VIOLATION EXCEPTIONS 1 :
   A.   Penalty Imposed: Any person found guilty of violating any provisions of this code, except as otherwise provided in this code, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not to exceed two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00) or by imprisonment for a period not to exceed six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each day that a violation continues shall be a separate offense punishable as hereinabove described.
   B.   Exceptions Pertaining To Traffic Violations: Any violation of or failure or refusal to do or perform any act required by chapter 17, sections 17-9, 17-10, 17-11, 17-12, 17-14, 17-15, 17-16, 17-16.1, 17-17, 17-18, 17-19, 17-20, 17-21, 17-22, 17-23, 17-24, 17-25, and 17-26 of this code, constitutes a civil traffic violation. Civil traffic violations are subject to the provisions of Arizona Revised Statutes title 28, chapter 6, articles 20 and 21 and amendments thereto.
