It shall be unlawful for any company, corporation, firm or person to dig up or cause to be dug up or to tear up or to remove any part of the paving, sidewalk, curb or gutter across or along any street or alley in the city without first obtaining a permit therefor from the city. A fee of five dollars ($5.00) shall be charged by the city for the issuance of such permits. (Ord. 74-120 § 1, 7-22-1974; Ord. 121 § 1, 7-22-1974)
Whenever a company, corporation, firm or person shall, after first having obtained a permit so to do, lay, place or erect any water main, electric light or telephone line, cable, conduit or other pipeline of any description across or along any street or alley where it is necessary to tear up or remove any part of the paving, sidewalk, curb or gutter for the purpose of laying, erecting or placing any water main, electric light or telephone line, cable, conduit or other pipeline, the same shall be repaired, replaced and put in the same condition as said paving, sidewalk, curb or gutter was before the tearing up or cutting across same.
