4-224-006 License – Application.
   An application for said license shall be made in conformity with the general requirements of this Code relating to applications for licenses; and with the particular requirements for each manufacturing establishment to be performed under the license as set forth in the relevant sections of the code governing the particular establishment.

4-224-008 License – Fee.
   The fee for each manufacturing license shall be as set forth in Section 4-5-010.

4-224-011 Location restrictions.
   No machine shops shall be conducted or operated on any lot or plot of ground of which any portion shall be within 200 feet of any lot occupied by a public or parochial school, hospital or church.

4-224-012 Noise restrictions.
   It shall be unlawful to maintain, within 200 feet of any residence, a machine shop or a foundry wherein pneumatic hammers or other apparatus are used which cause loud or unusual noises.

4-224-013 Operation at night restricted.
   No machine shop shall be operated in the nighttime between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. in any block in which a majority of the buildings on both sides of the street are used exclusively for residential purposes, or within 100 feet of such block, and it shall be within the power of the Department of Public Health, after reasonable notice, to treat such night operation as a public nuisance and to abate the same.

4-224-020 Sanitary requirements.
   No owner, proprietor, lessee, manager or superintendent of any manufacturing establishment where workmen and workwomen are employed for wages shall cause, permit or allow the same or any portion or apartment of, or any room in such manufacturing establishment, to be overcrowded or inadequate, faulty or insufficient in respect of light, ventilation, heat or cleanliness.
   In every such building or apartment, or room in any such building, where one or more persons are employed as aforesaid, at least 500 feet of air space shall be allowed to each person employed therein, and fresh air shall be supplied by ventilation at the rate of four complete changes of air per hour during the hours of employment. No part of such air supply shall be taken from any cellar or basement.
   All such places shall be kept in a clean condition, free from the effluvia of a sewer, drain, privy, stable or other nuisance; also free as far as practicable from all gases, vapors, dust or other impurities generated by manufacturing processes or otherwise which are injurious to health.
   Sufficient toilet facilities shall be provided for employees meeting the applicable requirements of Chapter 18-29, and such facilities shall be properly ventilated.
