In the interest of protecting the public health, safety and welfare, the Board of Trustees of Williamstown Township finds that the adoption of a fire code prescribing fire safety regulations is necessary to minimize hazard to life and property from fire or explosion. This chapter is adopted pursuant to Michigan Public Act 246 of 1945, being M.C.L.A. §§ 41.181 - 41.187, as amended (the Township Ordinances Act), and Michigan Public Act 33 of 1951, being M.C.L.A. §§ 41.801 - 41.813, as amended (the Police and Fire Protection Act).
