At the time of original construction of the public sewer, the township shall install, at its expense, that portion of the service from the main to the lot or easement line of all occupied premises. The city shall maintain, at its expense, the public sewer. Those customers making connections at the time of original construction of the public sewer shall install, at their expense, that portion of the service from the lot or easement line to their premises. The customer shall maintain, at his or her expense, the building drain and building sewer.
