There shall be created a Labor-Management-Citizens Committee of thirty members and eighteen associate panel members to act as a directing body for the purposes of implementing and effectuating the purposes and principles of this LMC Charter and the amendments thereto.
(1952 Code § 3-37-1)
(a) The members of the Committee, thirty in number, consisting of ten members from labor, ten from industry and ten from the public, shall be appointed by the Mayor in the manner provided by the Charter for a term of two years, and such appointments shall be made from lists of nominees submitted to the Mayor, as follows:
Labor members nominated by the labor section; industry members nominated by the industry section; and public members nominated by the public section; provided that the nominees of the public section shall be subject to the joint approval of the labor and management sections.
(b) The Committee shall elect one of the public members as its chairman and one of its public members as its vice-chairman.
(c) All interim vacancies shall be filled in the same manner as regular nominations for membership.
