There is hereby adopted by the Village for the purpose of regulating and controlling traffic on the streets of the Village 625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/11-100 to 5/11-1425 inclusive, and individually sections 5/12-101, 5/12-201(a), 5/12-202, 5/12-205, 5/12-401, 5/12-502, 5/12-503, 5/12-601, 5/12-602, 5/12-603, 5/12-702 and 5/12-710 as amended, excepting any penalties therein. Not less than three (3) copies of such law are on file in the Office of the Village Clerk and are available for public use, inspection and examination.
Any person violating the provisions of the above mentioned State law shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000.00). (Ord. 1984-0-3, 2-6-1984)
Except as otherwise provided in this section the Board of Trustees shall regulate control and approve all matters pertaining to vehicular traffic within the Village.
The Village Manager is authorized to establish and designate crosswalks, traffic lanes, permanent and temporary taxicab stands, passenger zones and loading zones.
The Chief of Police is empowered to make and enforce temporary regulations to cover emergencies or special conditions in connection with vehicular traffic. (Ord. 1988-0-91, 11-21-1988)
