The following words and phrases shall have the meanings, and are hereby defined, as follows:
AMBULANCE means any motor vehicle, as defined in the motor vehicle law of the State of Illinois, that is especially designed or constructed, and is intended to be used for, and is maintained or operated for, transportation of patients.
ATTENDANT means a person trained and/or qualified in the operation of an ambulance and care of patients, whether or not the attendant also serves as a driver.
ATTENDANT-DRIVER means any person who is qualified as an attendant and also qualified as a driver.
PATIENT means an individual who is sick, injured, wounded or otherwise incapacitated or helpless, or under the care of a licensed physician.
