ADOPTING ORDINANCE
ORDINANCE ADOPTING A REVISION AND CODIFICATION OF THE GENERAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK PARK
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Park, Cook County, Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1:
That the following Chapters 1 to 28, both inclusive, are hereby ordained and adopted as the general ordinances of the Village of Oak Park pursuant to the Home Rule powers of Oak Park set forth in Article VII, Section 6 of the Constitution of the State of Illinois and said Chapters shall constitute "The Code of the Village of Oak Park".
SECTION 2:
That the provisions of such Code shall be in full force and effect on and after the 3rd day of August, 1981. Chapters 1 to 47 of the Code of The Village of Oak Park of 1957 are repealed as of August 3, 1981.
SECTION 3:
That the repeal provided for in the preceding section of this ordinance shall not affect any offense or act committed or done or any penalty or forfeiture incurred or any contract or right established accruing before the 3rd day of August, 1981. That the repeal provided for in the previous section shall affect only those ordinances contained in said 1957 Code as amended. Ordinances relating to bond issues, contracts, conveyances, appropriation and levies, salaries and wages, franchises, buildings, zoning, imposition of taxes and other ordinances having been adopted independent of the Code of 1957 and shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4:
This ordinance and the Code of the Village of Oak Park shall be published in book form prior to its effective date.
SECTION 5:
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect as of August 3, 1981.

AYES: Trustees Bode, Klem, Marshall, Philbin and Sokol and President McClure
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Trustee Fallon
