6-1-4: DUTIES AND CONDUCT OF OFFICERS AND PERSONNEL:
   A.   It shall be the duty of all sworn officers to see to the enforcement of all village ordinances and laws of the state and the United States Of America, to preserve order, to prevent infractions of the law, and to arrest violators thereof. Every sworn officer shall serve subject to the orders of his superior officers and the chief of police. Every sworn officer is hereby declared to be a conservator of the peace, and every sworn officer shall avoid the use of unnecessary force and shall act in a lawful manner at all times.
   B.   It shall be the duty of all sworn officers and of all other employees of the police department to conduct themselves in a proper and law abiding manner at all times and to obey the orders and directions of their superiors and of the chief of police. (Ord. 982, 6-4-1990)
