6-2-1: DEFINITION:

The abbreviation "ESDA", where the same appears in this chapter, shall mean and refer to the Milan emergency services and disaster agency. (1983 Code § 2-4-6)

6-2-2: AGENCY CREATED; PURPOSE; COMPOSITION:

There is hereby created the Milan ESDA to prevent, minimize, repair and alleviate injury or damage resulting from disaster caused by explosion of atomic or other means from without or by means of sabotage or other disloyal actions within, or from fire, flood, earthquake, telecommunications failure or other natural or technological causes, in accordance with an act of the Illinois legislature entitled "the Illinois emergency management agency act", which act is found in 20 Illinois Compiled Statutes 3305/1 et seq. This ESDA shall consist of the coordinator and such additional members as may be selected by the coordinator. (1983 Code § 2-4-6; amd. 2011 Code)
