Under the direct supervision of the captain, the investigator shall perform investigations as assigned and prepare and file appropriate reports. In addition to the duties as investigator, the investigator shall perform the regular duties of a sworn officer. In the absence of a sergeant, the investigator will assume the duties of the sergeant.
