   159.01 ESTABLISHED; COMPOSITION.
   There is hereby established in the Department of Public Service of the City, the Division of Water within the Utility Group, consisting of such officers and employees as may from time to time be authorized by Council or designated or assigned to duty in or with such Division by the Director of Public Service.

   159.02 DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS.
   The Division of Water under the direction of the Director of Public Service shall have charge of and responsibility for the purchase, sale, distribution, transmission and metering of water, the installation, tapping, extension, repair and maintenance of water mains, lines and pipes, pumping and storage facilities, and all buildings, grounds, vehicles, equipment and appurtenances used by or in connection with the water system of the City.

   159.03 SUPERINTENDENT OF PUMPING AND DISTRIBUTION.
   There is hereby created in the unclassified service of the City, the position of Superintendent of Pumping and Distribution in the Division of Water. Such Superintendent shall be certified and/or licensed by the appropriate agency of the State and shall be well qualified to do and perform the duties of supervising the water system of the City and the pumping, storage and transmission facilities thereof, the construction, extension, maintenance and repair of water mains, lines and pipes, installation and repair of meters, hydrants, and other appurtenances, the metering of water and the custody, care, maintenance, and control of the property used in or by the Division. The Superintendent shall perform such other duties and assume such responsibilities as shall be designated or assigned by the Commissioner or Director of Public Service.
