§ 33.148 SUPERVISION OF OFFICERS.
   The animal control officers appointed by either the county or the City of Madison shall be supervised by the appointing jurisdiction.

ORDINANCE VIOLATIONS BUREAU
§ 33.160 ESTABLISHMENT.
   An Ordinance Violations Bureau is established for the city.

§ 33.161 ADMINISTRATOR.
   The City Clerk shall be appointed the Violations Clerk and shall be the administrator of the Bureau.

§ 33.162 POWERS AND DUTIES.
   The Ordinance Violations Bureau shall have all power and duties authorized by State law.

§ 33.163 SCHEDULE OF ORDINANCES AND CODE VIOLATIONS.
   (A)   The following schedule of ordinance and code provisions are subject to admission of violation before the Violations Clerk and includes the amount of the civil penalty to be assessed a violator who elects to admit a violation:

   (B)   This schedule shall establish civil penalties to be assessed a violator who elects to admit to an ordinance or code violation, but shall in no way impair the ability of the city to bring suit to seek the imposition of any fine greater than that provided for by the schedule that is otherwise allowed by the Code of Ordinances of the City of Madison and/or any state law.
   (C)   Civil penalties shall be paid to, receipted, and accounted for by the Violations Clerk under procedures provided by the State Board of Accounts.
   (D)   Payment of civil penalties may be made in person or by mail to the Violations Clerk.
   (E)   Upon a person waiving the right to trial and entering an admission of a violation with the Violations Clerk, the Clerk shall assess and receive from the violator the amount prescribed by the schedule set forth in division (A) herein.
   (F)   The provisions of IC 33-36-2-1 through 33-36-2-3 and 33-36-3-1 through 33-36-3-7, as they may be amended from time to time, shall govern the operation of the Violations Bureau and collection of all civil penalties.

§ 33.164 LATE CHARGES.
   If a violation subject to the procedures in this article is admitted more than seven days after issuance of the citation, the ordinance violations bureau shall add a late charge equal to the amount of the designated civil penalty or $25, whichever amount is less, and shall accept such payment if the violation has not been referred to the legal division and may accept such payment with consent of the legal division if the violation has been referred to the legal division.

§ 33.165 NOTICE, ORDINANCE VIOLATION CITATION.
   Any official, authorized to issue citations for violations scheduled in this subchapter, shall at the time of giving notice of such violation advise the alleged violator that such violation may be admitted and, if admitted, is subject to payment of a fixed civil penalty under this subchapter. Such information may be printed on such notice citation. A copy of the citation shall be filed with the Ordinance Violations Bureau by the issuing officer no later than noon of the next business day following its issuance. Failure to file the citation shall not affect its validity or the alleged violator's option to admit the violation and pay the fixed civil penalty.
