2.44.070   Equipment-Control and responsibility.
   All hose carts or carriages, hooks, ladders and all other fire machinery, apparatus, tools, buckets and property of any description whatsoever, in any way relating to or connected with the fire department of the city shall be under the control and charge of the fire chief. (Ord. 326 (part), 1984: prior code § 4-2-12)
2.44.080   Equipment-Private use prohibited without consent
   No person having charge of any hose, fire truck or other fire apparatus shall suffer the same to be applied to private use without the consent of the city commission and the fire chief and he shall be personally liable in addition thereto for any injuries thereby caused to such apparatus. 2.44.090   Joint use agreements.
   The commission may from time to time enter into agreements, for the joint use of facilities, buildings and equipment with fire districts organized under the laws of the state of New Mexico. (Ord. 326 (part), 1984: prior code § 4-2-7)
2.44.100   Authorized emergency vehicles.
   Each member of the department driving a car shall be issued suitable insignia to be attached to the car. The driver of an authorized emergency vehicle shall operate such vehicle pursuant to the New Mexico Uniform Traffic Ordinance. No person shall drive any vehicle over fire hoses except from specific orders from the chief or other officer in charge where the hose is used. (Ord. 326 (part), 1984; prior code § 4-2-9)
2.44.110   Entry onto adjacent property.
   It is lawful for any fireman acting under the direction of the chief or another officer in command to enter upon the premises adjacent to or in the vicinity of any building or other property that is on fire, for the purpose of extinguishing such fire, and no person shall hinder, resist or obstruct any fireman in the discharge of his duty as provided in this chapter. 2.44.120   Prescribing limits at scene of fire.
   The fire chief or such officer as may be in command at any fire scene may prescribe limits within which no person shall be admitted to the area. Such officer in command at any designated location of imminent danger or potential disaster may prescribe limits to the area or areas within which no unauthorized personnel shall be admitted. Exceptions shall be by order of the mayor, his designee and/or by order of the emergency operating center for the city. (Ord. 326 (part), 1984: prior code § 4-2-15)
2.44.130   Mutual aid agreements.
   The city is authorized to enter into agreements or contracts to furnish fire protection outside the municipality or to enter into mutual aid agreements. The members of the fire department are authorized and directed to render firefighting service to communities, organizations, owner or occupants of premises outside the corporate limits of the city. Such service shall only be rendered subject to the terms of the agreements or contract entered into by the city. (Ord. 326 (part), 1984: prior code § 4-2-8)
2.44.140   Fire alarms.
   Suitable alarm systems, arrangements or equipment shall be provided for use in turning in an alarm, and for alerting department members to report to duty stations. It is unlawful for any person to maliciously turn in, or cause to be turned in, a false alarm. (Ord. 326 (part), 1984: prior code § 4-2-10)
2.44.150   Inspections-Uniform codes adopted by reference.
   For the purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire and other hazards in an ever changing environment, there are adopted by the city those codes and standards known as the Uniform Building Code, Uniform Fire Code, Life Safety Code, National Electrical Code, National Fire Protection Association Standards, Uniform Mechanical Code, ICBO Plumbing Code and the Occupational Health and Safety Standards for General Industry as amended from time to time, as well as all state and federal requirements pertaining to the inspected occupancy at the time of the inspection.
