155.21 MECHANICAL PERMIT FEES.
A fee for each mechanical permit shall be paid to the Building Official as set forth herein.
1.   Permit Issuance.
   A.   For the issuance of each permit – $22.00
   B.   For issuing each supplemental permit – $3.25
2.   Unit Fee Schedule.
   A.   For the installation or relocation of each forced-air or gravity-type furnace or burner, including ducts and vents attached to such appliance, up to and including 100,000 Btu/h – $6.63.
   B.   For the installation or relocation of each forced-air or gravity-type furnace or burner, including ducts and vents attached to such appliance over 100,000 Btu/h – $8.13.
   C.   For the installation or relocation of each floor furnace, including vent – $6.63.
   D.   For the installation or relocation of each suspended heater, recessed wall heater or floor-mounted unit heater – $6.63.
   E.   For the installation, relocation or replacement of each appliance vent installed and not included in an appliance permit – $3.25.
   F.   For the repair of, alteration of, or addition to each heating appliance, refrigeration unit, cooling unit, absorption unit, or each heating, cooling, absorption, or evaporative cooling system, including installation of controls regulated by this chapter – $6.13.
   G.   For the installation or relocation of each boiler or compressor to and including three horsepower, or each absorption system to and including 100,000 Btu/h – $6.63.
   H.   For the installation or relocation of each boiler or compressor over three horsepower to and including 15 horsepower or each absorption system over 100,000 Btu/h and including 500,000 Btu/h – $12.12.
   I.   For the installation or relocation of each boiler or compressor over 15 horsepower to and including 30 horsepower, or each absorption system over 500,000 Btu/h to and including 1,000,000 Btu/h – $16.63.
   J.   For the installation or relocation of each boiler or compressor over 30 horsepower to and including 50 horsepower, or for each absorption system over 1,000,000 Btu/h to and including 1,750,000 Btu/h – $24.75.
   K.   For the installation or relocation of each boiler or refrigeration compressor over 50 horsepower, or each absorption system over 1,750,000 Btu/h – $41.38.
   L.   For each air handling unit to and including 10,000 cubic feet per minute, including ducts attached thereto – $4.75. Note: This fee shall not apply to an air handling unit which is a portion of a factory assembled appliance, cooling unit, evaporative cooler or absorption unit for which a permit is required elsewhere in this chapter.
   M.   For each air handling unit over 10,000 cfm – $8.08.
   N.   For each evaporative cooler other than portable type – $4.75.
   O.   For each ventilation fan connected to a single duct – $3.25.
   P.   For each ventilation system which is not a portion of any heating or air conditioning system authorized by a permit – $4.75.
   Q.   For the installation of each hood which is served by mechanical exhaust, including the ducts for such hood – $4.75.
   R.   For the installation or relocation of each domestic type incinerator – $8.13.
   S.   For the installation or relocation or each commercial or industrial type incinerator – $33.25.
   T.   For each appliance or piece of equipment regulated by this chapter but not classed in other appliance categories, or for which no other fee is listed in this chapter – $4.25.
   U.   Permit fees for fuel gas piping shall be as follows:
      (1)   For each gas piping system of one to four outlets – $2.75;
      (2)   For each gas piping system of five or more outlets – $0.50 per outlet.
155.22 PLUMBING PERMIT FEES.
A fee for each plumbing permit shall be paid to the Building Official as set forth herein.
1.   Permit Issuance.
   A.   For issuing each permit – $20.00.
   B.   For issuing each supplemental permit – $5.00.
2.   Unit Fee Schedule.
   A.   For each plumbing fixture or trap or set of fixtures on one trap (including water, drainage piping and backflow protection therefor) – $3.50.
   B.   For each building sewer and each trailer park sewer – $7.50.
   C.   Rainwater systems – per drain (inside building) – $3.50.
   D.   For each cesspool – $12.50.
   E.   For each private sewage disposal system – $20.00.
   F.   For each water heater and/or vent – $3.50.
   G.   For each gas piping system of one to four outlets – $2.50.
   H.   For each gas piping system of five or more, per outlet – $0.50.
   I.   For each industrial waste pretreatment interceptor, including its trap and vent, excepting kitchen type grease interceptors functioning as fixture traps – $3.50.
   J.   For installation, alteration or repair of water piping and/or water treating equipment – $3.50.
   K.   For repair or alteration of drainage or vent piping – $3.50.
   L.   For each lawn sprinkler system on any one meter, including backflow protection devices therefor – $3.50.
   M.   For atmospheric-type vacuum breakers not included in paragraph L:
      (1)   one to five – $2.50
      (2)   over five – $0.50 each
   N.   For each backflow protective device other than atmospheric type vacuum breakers:
      (1)   two-inch diameter and smaller – $3.50
      (2)   over two-inch diameter – $7.50
   O.   For each gray-water system – $20.00.
155.23 ELECTRICAL PERMIT FEES.
A fee for each electrical permit shall be paid to the Building Official as set forth herein.
1.   Permit Issuance.
   A.   For issuing each permit – $22.00.
   B.   For issuing each supplemental permit – $4.50.
2.   System Fee Schedule. (Note: The following do not include permit issuing fee.)
   A.   New Residential Buildings. The following fees shall include all wiring and electrical equipment in or on each building, or other electrical equipment on the same premises constructed at the same time.
      (1)   For new multi-family residential buildings (apartments and condominiums) having three or more living units not including the area of garages, carports and other noncommercial automobile storage areas constructed at the same time, per square foot – $0.023.
      (2)   For new single- and two-family residential buildings not including the area of garages, carports and other minor accessory buildings constructed at the same time, per square foot – $0.026.
      (3)   For other types of residential occupancies and alterations, additions and modifications to existing residential buildings, use the Unit Fee Schedule in subsection 3 of this section.
   B.   Private Swimming Pools.
      (1)   For new private, residential, in-ground, swimming pools for single-family and multi-family occupancies including a complete system of necessary branch circuit wiring, bonding, grounding, underwater lighting, water pumping and other similar electrical equipment directly related to the operation of a swimming pool – $22.50 each.
      (2)   For other types of swimming pools, therapeutic whirlpools, spas and alterations to existing swimming pools, use the Unit Fee Schedule in subsection 3 of this section.
   C.   Carnivals and Circuses. Carnivals, circuses, or other traveling shows or exhibitions utilizing transportable type rides, booths, displays and attractions.
      (1)   For electric generators and electrically driven rides – $11.25 each.
      (2)   For mechanically driven rides and walk-through attractions or displays having electric lighting – $3.38 each.
      (3)   For a system of area and booth lighting – $3.38 each.
      (4)   For permanently installed, rides, booths, displays and attractions, use the Unit Fee Schedule in subsection 3 of this section.
   D.   Temporary Power Service.
      (1)   For a temporary service power pole or pedestal including all pole or pedestal mounted receptacle outlets and appurtenances – $11.25 each.
      (2)   For a temporary distribution system and temporary lighting and receptacle outlets for construction sites, decorative light, Christmas tree sales lots, fireworks stands, etc. – $5.63 each.
3.   Unit Fee Schedule. (Note: The following do not include permit issuing fee.)
   A.   Receptacle, Switch and Lighting Outlets. For receptacle, switch, lighting or other outlets at which current is used or controlled, except services, feeders and meters.
      (1)   First 20 – $0.56 each;
      (2)   Additional outlets – $0.34 each.
   Note: For multi-outlet assemblies, each 5 feet or fraction thereof may be considered as one outlet.
   B.   Lighting Fixtures.
      (1)   For lighting fixtures, sockets or other lamp holding devices:
         First 20 – $0.56 each;
         Additional fixtures – $0.34 each.
      (2)   For pole or platform mounted lighting fixtures – $0.56 each;
      (3)   For theatrical type lighting fixtures or assemblies – $0.56 each.
   C.   Residential Appliances. For fixed residential appliances or receptacle outlets for same, including wall mounted electric ovens; counter mounted cooking tops; electric ranges, self-contained room, console, or through-wall air conditioners; space heaters; food waste grinders; dishwashers; washing machines; water heaters; clothes dryers; or other motor operated appliances not exceeding one horsepower (HP) in rating – $2.25 each. Note: For other types of air conditioners and other motor driven appliances having larger electrical ratings, see Power Apparatus, paragraph E.
   D.   Nonresidential Appliances. For residential appliances and self-contained factory wired, nonresidential appliances not exceeding one horsepower (HP), kilowatt (KW), or kilovolt-ampere (KVA), in rating including medical and dental devices; food, beverage, and ice cream cabinets; illuminated show cases; drinking fountains; vending machines; laundry machines; or other similar types of equipment – $2.25 each. Note: For other types of air conditioners and other motor driven appliances having larger electrical ratings, see Power Apparatus, paragraph E.
   E.   Power Apparatus. For motors, generators, transformers, rectifiers, synchronous converters, capacitors, industrial heating, air conditioners, and heat pumps, cooking or baking equipment and other apparatus, as follows: [Ratings in horsepower (HP), kilowatts (KW), kilovolt-amperes (KVA), or kilovolt-amperes-reactive (KVAR)]:
      (1)   Up to and including 1 – $2.25 each;
      (2)   Over 1 and not over 10 – $5.63 each;
      (3)   Over 10 and not over 50 – $11.25 each;
      (4)   Over 50 and not over 100 – $22.50 each;
      (5)   Over 100 – $33.75 each.
   Notes: (i) For equipment or appliances having more than one motor, transformer, heater, etc., the sum of the combined ratings may be used. (ii) These fees include all switches, circuit breakers, contractors, thermostats, relays and other directly related control equipment.
   F.   Busways. For trolley and plug-in type busways, each 100 feet or fraction thereof – $3.28 Note: An additional fee will be required for lighting fixtures, motors and other appliances that are connected to trolley and plug-in type busways. No fee is required for portable tools.
   G.   Signs, Outline Lighting and Marquees.
      (1)   For signs, outline lighting systems or marquees supplied from one branch circuit – $11.25 each;
      (2)   For additional branch circuits within the same sign, outline lighting system or marquee – $2.25 each.
   H.   Services.
      (1)   For services of 600 volts or less and not over 200 amperes in rating – $13.88 each;
      (2)   For services of 600 volts or less and over 200 amperes to 1000 amperes in rating – $28.13 each;
      (3)   For services over 600 volts or over 1000 amperes in rating – $56.25 each.
   I.   Miscellaneous Apparatus, Conduits and Conductors. For electrical apparatus, conduits and conductors for which a permit is required but for which no fee is herein set forth – $8.25. Note: This fee is not applicable when a fee is paid for one or more services, outlets, fixtures, appliances, power apparatus, busways, signs or other equipment.
155.24 PLAN CHECKING FEES.
When a plan check is required by the Building Official, the fees shall be equal to the fee charged to the City by a consultant retained by the City to perform such service. The plan check may be waived, when required, if the plans submitted are certified by an engineer or architect, registered pursuant to the laws of the State, to be in compliance with the requirements of this chapter.

155.25 EXPIRATION OF PLAN CHECK.
Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall expire by limitation and plans submitted for checking may thereafter be returned to the applicant or destroyed by the Building Official. The Building Official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180 days upon written request by the applicant showing that circumstances beyond the control of the applicant have prevented action from being taken. In order to renew action on an application after expiration, the applicant shall resubmit plans and pay a new plan check fee.
155.26 REINSPECTION FEE.
In the event reinspection is necessary, there shall be paid to the Building Official a reinspection fee in the following amounts:

1.   Foundation Inspection – $25.00
2.   Frame Inspection – $25.00
3.   Final Inspection – $25.00
4.   Mechanical Work – $25.00
5.   Plumbing Work – $25.00
6.   Electrical Work – $25.00
155.27 OTHER INSPECTION FEES.
In the event that an inspection or review is requested and performed pursuant to any of the following items, there shall be paid to the Building Official a fee in the following amounts:
1.   Inspections outside of normal business hours (minimum charge of one hour) – $25.00 per hour.
2.   Inspections for which no fee is specifically indicated – $20.00 per hour.
3.   Additional plan review required by changes, additions, or revisions to approved plans (minimum charge of one-half hour) – $20.00 per hour.
