COURTHOUSE PARKING

72.01 PURPOSE.

This chapter shall establish regulations for parking on the courthouse grounds and parking areas, pursuant to an agreement entered into between the City and Carroll County, Iowa, under Chapter 28E, Code of Iowa.

72.02 LANES AND DRIVES.

No person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a peace officer or traffic control device on the paved lane which extends from Main Street to Court Street on the north side of the courthouse building and grounds adjacent thereto and on the circular drive which has its exit and entrance from the above drive and passes immediately in front of the north entrance to the courthouse and under the canopy.

72.03 EAST PARKING LOT.

No person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle in the parking lot located to the east of the courthouse and adjacent to the Sheriff’s office unless identified by a County parking permit issued by the County and designating specific authority to park in the east parking lot.
