Sec. 7-2 Contractor Defined. 1

   When used in this Article, the term "Contractor" shall be construed and understood to mean and include, in addition to the description set forth in Section 7-1, any person, firm, corporation, business trust, or combination of same, taking contracts or agreement, written or oral, express or implied, to furnish labor or supervision while engaged in the business of, or holding themselves out to the public as engaged in the business of, installing or repairing electric, plumbing or sanitation installation, wires, pipes, conductors, apparatus or fixtures, or any carpentry, masonry, concrete, sheet metal or other sheet goods, plaster or drywall material, earthmoving or grading or heating, air conditioning or ventilation equipment used or for use in any private or public house, mill, manufactory, or other building, bridge, reservoir, system of waterworks or other structures or for construction, altering, repairing or removing any walk or sidewalk, whether such walk or sidewalk be on the land or bordering thereon, stile, well, drain, drainage ditch, sewer or cistern, or any other earthmoving operation. In addition to the foregoing definitions in Section 7-1 and the foregoing portion of Section 7-2 hereof, the term "Contractor" when used in this Article, shall be construed and understood to mean and include any person, firm, corporation, business trust, or combination thereof, as principal, who, for a fixed sum, price, fee, percentage, or other compensation shall, as contractor or subcontractor, bill, construct, alter, repair, add to or erect any building or other structure within the Town of Schererville, Indiana, or who shall undertake to perform any of said acts. Finally, the term "Contractor" shall be construed and understood to mean and include any person, firm, corporation, business trust or combination of the same, taking contracts or agreements written or oral, express or implied, to furnish labor or supervision while engaged in the business of landscaping, lawn maintenance, installation of underground sprinkler systems and the like, and the construction and installation of swimming pools.
