5003.11.1 Maximum allowable quantity per control area in Group M or S occupancies.
The aggregate amount of nonflammable solid and nonflammable or noncombustible liquid hazardous materials stored and displayed within a single control area of a Group M occupancy or stored in a single control area of a Group S occupancy shall not exceed the amounts set forth in FC Table 5003.11.1.

a.   Hazard categories are as specified in FC 5001.2.2.
b.   Maximum allowable quantities shall be increased 100 percent in buildings protected throughout by a sprinkler system. When Note c applies, amounts increased shall be as set forth in both notes.
c.   Maximum allowable quantities shall be increased 100 percent when stored in approved storage cabinets in accordance with FC 5003.8. When Note b applies, amounts increased shall be as set forth in both notes.
d.   See FC Table 5003.8.3.3 for design and number of control areas.
e.   Maximum allowable quantities for other hazardous material categories shall be in accordance with FC 5003.1.
f.   Maximum allowable quantities shall be increased 100 percent in outdoor control areas.
g.   Maximum allowable quantities may be increased to 2,250 pounds when individual packages are in the original sealed containers from the manufacturer or packager and do not exceed 10 pounds each.
h.   Maximum allowable quantities may be increased to 4,500 pounds when individual packages are in the original sealed containers from the manufacturer or packager and do not exceed 10 pounds each.
i.   Quantities are unlimited where protected by a sprinkler system.
j.   Quantities are unlimited in an outdoor control area.
