2310.5.5.1 Smoking.
It shall be unlawful to smoke, use or maintain an open flame within 50 feet (15 240 mm) of fueling operations. "No Smoking" signs complying with the requirements of FC 310 shall be conspicuously posted throughout the premises. Such signs shall have letters of not less than 4 inches (102 mm) in height with a background of contrasting color.
2310.5.6 Preparation of tanks for fueling.
Marine vessel and watercraft owners and operators shall not offer their marine vessel or watercraft for fueling unless the tanks being filled are properly vented to dissipate fumes to the outdoors.
2310.5.7 Warning signs.
Warning signs shall be prominently displayed at the face of each pier, dock or wharf at such elevation as to be clearly visible from the decks of marine vessels and watercraft being fueled. Such signs shall have letters not less than 3 inches (76 mm) in height on a background of contrasting color bearing the following or approved equivalent wording:

FUELING, SHUT OFF ELECTRICITY.
DO NOT START ENGINE UNTIL AFTER
BELOW DECK SPACES ARE VENTILATED.

2310.6 Fire protection.
Marine liquid motor fuel-dispensing facilities shall comply with the requirements of FC 2310.6.1 through 2310.6.4, and the construction codes, including the Building Code.
2310.6.1 Standpipe hose stations.
Fire hose, when required, shall be provided and enclosed within a cabinet, and hose stations shall be labeled: FIRE HOSE – EMERGENCY USE ONLY.
