a. Workmanship. The specifications for the construction of storm sewers shall not be less stringent than those set forth in the latest edition of the Indiana Department of Transportation "Standard Specifications"; additionally, ductile iron pipe shall be laid in accordance with American Water Works Association (AWWA) C-600 and clay pipe shall be laid in accordance with American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM) C-12. Clay pipe is not recommended without prior approval. Pipe joints shall be flexible and watertight and shall conform to the requirements of Section 715.02.
b. Materials. Storm sewer materials shall conform to the latest edition of Indiana Department of Transportation "Standard Specifications" and "Standard Drawings".
1. Concrete culverts and retaining walls shall conform to requirements of Section 714.
2. Pipe culverts and storm sewers shall conform to the requirements of Section 715 where: Type 1 pipe shall be used under pavement and driveways and Type 2 pipe shall be used for storm sewers elsewhere.
3. Pipe end sections (grated box and safety metal) conform to requirements of subsection 715.10.
4. Structural plate pipe, pipe-arches and arches shall conform to requirements of Section 717.
5. Manholes, inlets and catch basins shall conform to requirements of Section 720.
6. Automatic drainage gates shall conform to requirements of Section 721.
