This permit fee shall include construction site inspections for storm sewer facilities, erosion control and BMP, inspection documentation and reporting required for the SWQMP. These inspection fees apply only to this ordinance, as amended from time to time.
a. Storm water permit fee shall be assessed according to the following chart. In mixed use developments, such as residential and non-residential in one (1) development, cost allocation of permit fees shall be determined by the Director of Planning and Building according to the area affected (please see example 4. below). For the purposes of this section, a unit is defined as a single occupied space within a multi-tenant building.
Project Type | Base Fee | Per Lot Fee | Per Acre Fee | Re-inspection Fee |
Residential subdivision development or unit thereof | $500 | $35 | $50 | $350 |
Residential building permit | $200 | $100 per unit | Not applicable | $150 |
Non-residential subdivision development or unit thereof | $1,000 | $200 | $100 | $450 |
Non-residential building permit | $400 | $250 per unit | Not applicable | $250 |
The greater of the fec calculations shall be applied to the permit fee.
Permit fee example calculations:
1. Residential subdivision: with 50 acres and 120 residential lots.
Base fee $500 + (120 lots x $35 per lot) = $4,700 permit fee
Base fee $500 + (50 acres x $50 per acre) = $3,000 permit fee
In this case a permit fee of $4,700 would be required as it is the greater of the fee calculations.
2. Single residential lot with single unit:
Base fee $200 + $100 per one unit = $300 permit fee
3. Single residential lot with a duplex unit:
Base fee $200 + (2 x $100 per unit) = $400 permit fee
4. Mixed use residential and non-residential of 100 acres total, including residential: 75 acres and 200 residential lots and non-residential: 25 acres and 12 non-residential lots
Residential
Base fee $500 + (200 lots x $35 per lot) = $7,500 permit fee
Base fee $500 + (75 acres x $50 per acre) = $4,250 permit fee
Non-residential
Base fee $1,000 + (12 lots x $200 per lot) = $3,400 permit fee
Base fee $1,000 + (25 acres x $100 per acre) = $3,500 permit fee
In this case a permit fee of $7,500 for residential and $3,500 for non-residential for a total permit fee of $11,000 would be required as it is the greater of the fee calculations.
5. Non-residential subdivision: with 15 acres and 6 lots.
Base fee $1,000 + (6 lots x $200 per lot) = $2,200
Base fee $1,000 + (15 acres x $100 per acre) = $2,500
In this case a permit fee of $2,500 would be required as it is the greater of the fee calculations.
6. Non-residential lot with a single unit:
Base fee $400 + $250 per one unit = $650 permit fee
7. Non-residential lot with 5 units:
Base fee $400 + (5 units x $250 per unit) = $1,650 permit fee
b. A re-inspection fee shall be applicable when inspections of site improvements fail to meet approved plan submittals or where a violation of this ordinance exists.
c. Prior to the commencement of construction, storm water BMP's, in compliance with this ordinance, shall be submitted and receive final engineering approval. Also, the aforementioned BMP's shall be installed, inspected and approved with all applicable fees paid prior to utility and infrastructure installation.
