a. A vehicular weight restriction shall be established for the following roads in the Town of Schererville, Indiana:
1. Southbound Junction Avenue commencing at the intersection of Kennedy Ave. and Junction Ave. and proceeding in a southbound direction to the intersection of Joliet St. and Junction Ave.;
2. Joliet St. between U.S. 3 0 and Cline Avenue;
3. Austin Avenue, all lanes of traffic north of U.S. 30.
b. Said weight restriction shall prohibit any vehicle weighing in excess of eleven thousand (11,000) pounds from utilizing the roadways designated here above.
c. License plates indicating a weight greater than eleven thousand (11,000) pounds shall be prima facie evidence that the vehicle is overweight and subject to the provisions of this ordinance.
d. Any Schererville police officer having reasonable suspicion that a vehicle exceeds the aforestated weight restrictions shall have the authorization to request the driver of the subject vehicle to proceed to the nearest scales for the purpose of determining the true and actual weight of the vehicle.
