Sec. 8-69 Storage of Vehicles.
   a.   Using streets for storage of vehicles or parking of vehicles for more than seventy-two (72) consecutive hours prohibited. It shall be unlawful for any person to park or cause to be parked any motor vehicle upon any street or public highway in the Town of Schererville, Indiana for a period longer than seventy-two (72) consecutive hours except as hereinafter provided.
   b.   Any person who desires to park a motor vehicle upon any street in the Town of Schererville, Indiana for a period of more than seventy-two (72) consecutive hours shall apply to the Chief of Police of the town for a permit to do so. The Chief of Police shall grant such permit only after determining that:
      1)   the safety of the persons traveling on the street upon which it is desired to park such motor vehicle will not be endangered, and
      2)   the reason stated for parking a motor vehicle for more than seventy-two (72) hours consecutively is such that the granting of such permit is necessary and reasonable, and
      3)   a permit granted by the Chief of Police shall state the name of the person seeking the permit, his address, the address at which the motor vehicle shall be parked, the model, kind and registration place of the motor vehicle to be parked, and the expiration date of said permit.
