a. Each front seat occupant of a motor vehicle that is equipped with a safety belt meeting the standards stated in the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Number 208 (49 CFR 571.208) shall have a safety belt properly fastened about the occupant's body at all times when the vehicle is in motion.
b. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this section shall be subject to a penalty in the amount of twenty-five dollars ($25.00).

c. Sixty percent (60%) of all penalties collected by the Schererville Town Court for violation of this section, as referenced above, shall be deposited into the General Fund Court Fines - Passenger Restraint. The remaining forty percent (40%) of such penalties shall be deposited into the General Fund as miscellaneous revenue.
